28/01/2013: What a day the 2nd of March will be....
Storm Nightclub - Falkirk - have very kindly allowed us to use their venue to hold an incredible event.
Due to the layout of the club we are able to hold THREE seminars at once, dependant upon the relevance to the individual.
Seminar 1 - ''bar fight - first five seconds'' - Can you run ? Can you remember the exits? Are they blocked? - Flight or fight kicks in, the adrenalin is pumping - learn how to control the panic and operate efficiently and coolly under the pressure and fear. This event hosted by Tomasz Adamczyk - chief instructor of United Krav Maga based in Poland - will give you the edge in a highly charged, close quarter environment.
Seminar 2 - S.A.F.E. - sexual attack, fast escape - two part seminar. Part 1 - hosted by KMS instructor Iain Hamilton, will focus on the timeline of an attack of this nature, focussing on how to raise your awareness, how to disengage from grabs from all angles and control yourself to allow a safe escape. part 2 [ ground techniques ] held the following week at grangemouth sports complex, hosted by Iain, myself and female instructors.
Seminar 3 - Door security and bar staff - 'come-alongs', 'takedowns', control/restrain techniques to allow the efficient and effective removal of problematical customers, lessening the chance of injury to staff or client and minimising incident book entries. Will also look at weapon defences and disarms from both sides of the bar. Hosted by myself, to date the only law enforcement qualified instructor in Scotland.
All of the above will be preceded by talks from Rape Crisis and Drug/Alcohol Awareness speakers.
Truly a very special event, open to all, facing some very anti-social subject matter.
